"Poetry of Laughter" is piece that captures the complex evolution of joy as it unfolds. The gestural movement and thick, textured impasto give the painting depth and emotionality designed to bring passion and energy to your space.

My work began in layers. Just like in life and in a lot of my work, there is a lot happening underneath the surface. I began these paintings in blue, and using a brush I found the appeal of so many variations of blues paired with gold. I then layered on top with a palette knife, allowing the thick sweeps of red to blanket the canvas, almost protecting the sounds of the art underneath.

Poetry of Laughter is a complex evolution of joy as it unfolded, starting in one direction and then feeling the pull of another and enjoying the absolute journey of that experience. These paintings can be purchased individually or together as a sister pair with The Poetry of Sound. I love that these paintings reveal themselves slowly, just like our personal poetry often does.
